Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects and a grand development strategy in the history of China’s diplomacy or international engagement. The BRI is reported by China top leaders as a mean to build China’s Rejuvenation and achieve China’s modernisation. With more than 10 years of project implementation, the BRI keeps on expanding and reforming. However, this project is not without speculation or questioning.

Cambodia is one of the supporters of BRI since its establishment. The most well-known BRI project in Cambodia is the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway which has become a driving force to the transportation sector in Cambodia with huge positive impacts on the Kingdom’s economic growth.
